Republican Candidate's Marriage Hypocrisy

I have been reading a lot about Newt Gingrich and Mitch Daniels over the last couple of days as they are both going to be formidable candidates for President on the right side of the aisle.  Gingrich officially threw his hat in the ring this week with a YouTube video linked from his official announcement via Twitter. He has claimed that the country is somehow going to be secular atheists run by Islamic radicals and is pushing Christianity into the public square at full steam.  He is a recent convert to Catholicism after marrying a Catholic has been seen as a move to re-make his personal image.  Gingrich has married three times, progressively committing adultery against current wives with his would be future wives.  Each time he has served divorce papers to ailing current wives, the first with uterine cancer, the second with newly diagnosed MS.  But with his new Catholicism he is keeping a hard line on social issues.  Apparently he wants to somehow save marriage from the gays, but has no problem destroying his own marriages.
Next we move to Mitch Daniels... I am very interested to see how his marriage difficulties will play out in the press.  Not many Hoosiers know that he has been divorced. Why?  Well because he remarried the same woman.  It wasn't noted but this phenomena was recently discussed in this article. He wanted to call a truce to the culture wars on social issues, but the Indiana legislator has forced his hand.  He recently cut all funding for Planned Parenthood in Indiana.  So no inexpensive family planning for Hoosiers because a previously divorced man believes the organization to be morally corrupt.  My bet is that he would also do everything in his power to keep same sex couples from realizing the same state benefits he has with his wife.. and his wife had with that other dude out in California
I do not expect our politicians to be "morally pure" individuals, I do however have a problem with morally suspect individuals prescribing ideals in government.  They are proof that as humans we all fall short of some ideal, and therefore should realize that placing a subjective ideal as law isn't just at all.
They are both Christian, and  should know Jesus spoke MUCH MUCH more about divorce and said nothing of same-sex couples.  Perhaps they should realize then, that state marriage laws are about benefits, rights and responsibilities, not a religious ideal to be enforced.

Florida has Outlawed Sex

It has been awhile since I have posted because I have been crazy busy as Idealuch sole SEO specialist.  Sorry about that guys, hopefully I can get into the habit of posting at least once a day in the morning.  I have been following a story out of Florida for the last few months that has taken a funny turn in the last couple of days.  The problem:  After a Florida resident took some carnal comfort with one of his animals, Florida realized that it didn't have a bestiality law on the books.  oops.  Not content with the animal cruelty charges the legislator decided it was now a priority to pass a specific bestiality law to proper punish those who engage in such behavior.   After three attempts the law finally passed.  But wait a sec, read the actual law!! It specifically outlaws intercourse with an animal....As any person that has passed freshman biology knows, humans are animals...So after 3 attempts, numerous readings and a governor's  signature the state of Florida has effectively outlawed sex with all animals.. including humans.

This is the man that wouldn't let gay marriage in RI pass

Rhode Island minority leader arrested for drugs and drunk driving...But ya, this guy totally has the moral superiority to tell people the government shouldn't recognize their union..

Planned Parenthood in Indiana

I regularly read my hometown newspaper to keep abreast of issues in southern Indiana, nice to keep in touch with my roots.  I recently came across this story about Indiana's plans to cut all federal funds to the Planned Parenthood locations within its borders.  I can't tell you I was very surprised, as I recall the right to lifer's dominate in Indiana.  The kiss of death to many southern Indiana politicians is to declare that they are pro-choice.  The problem with all of this of course is that the federal government is banned from providing funds for abortions already in the Hyde Amendment.  The new movement in Indiana effectively bans funding for family planning (birth control), cancer screenings, STI testing, STI information and counseling, and the multitude of other services they provide.  I personally know many that have received these services from Planned Parenthood, and have remained healthy because of it.  Sometimes I am amazed at where I come from, and the callousness of the politicians that are able to hold power there.  The state congress should be ashamed of themselves, and Hoosiers should make sure they are not re-elected.

Let the dorkery begin.  SOOOO excited for the new season of Torchwood.  A teaser for the newest season has just been released.

Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump with differing ideas on fighting oil prices

Sen. Bernie Sanders wants to stop oil speculation to combat the rise of oil prices.  A link to a Huffington Post article about it with a letter to the President included here.  A little bit different then Donald Trump's idea of just telling OPEC what their production levels should be with some colorful language.  How presidential of him. Interesting that he wants to control production levels of a global commodity, how is this capitalism?

The First Post

Hello all!  Well not all, actually no one at this point.  This is the inaugural post for my inaugural blog, hence no followers as of yet.  I have posted on blogs before, mainly for work, on the inner workings of SEO. I have little idea of what I plan on including for this particular blog.  I, like most, have a wide variety of interests.  They range from sports, technology, queer issues, and many many more. I hope that my posts will be informative, thought provoking and fun.  The internet, and blogging specifically, has the power to connect like minded people in a way that no society or platform has ever been able to do.  It allows for multi-dimensional communication that our predecessors could have never predicted.  My hope is that this exchange of information, really J.S. Mill's "marketplace of ideas" on a massive scale, will help human society evolve to a more prosperous state.  Allowing us to discuss with reason in order to ferret out reasonable and positive ideas to help solve difficult problems.  I hope that this blog can play a small part in facilitating this action.  All the best to my future readers, I hope that you enjoy my blog. :-)
